Portrait Photography
People and all their infinite idiosyncrasies fascinate and inspire me. As a photographer, I aim to capture your essential character in a beautiful yet honest way and create timeless and classic images full of impact and emotion.
Getting to know you
I take time to get to know you. It’s important you feel comfortable and able to be yourself so I make sure my shoots are relaxed and real. Natural light and outdoor spaces best reflect my photographic style and I will work with you to choose the ideal location. I am equally at home in the studio or in your home or place of work.
Getting it right
Portrait photography shouldn’t be rushed if you want to be sure of a genuine reflection of the people involved. Before the shoot, I discuss possible locations with you and the importance of clothing – particularly what doesn’t work well on camera. On arrival, I take time to get to know everyone better and go over location and outfit ideas. Then, when everybody is feeling suitably relaxed and ready, I spend an hour or so taking photos with a fun and easygoing approach.
Probably the greatest skill a portrait photographer should have is the ability to put people at ease. I’m totally confident in my ability to bring out the best in you and your children: from unpredictable toddlers to self-conscious teenagers.
Portrait photographs evolve naturally and I do my very best to make it as enjoyable an experience as possible to create photographs that look and feel like works of art.
